1. Sustainable Business Practices
Sage Group is highly committed for Sustainable operations with minimal adverse impact on the human health and the environment. We have taken many measures in past to ensure sustainable business practices. Our Sustainable Business Principles are:
- We choose the most energy-efficient, environmentally responsible technology products for our services. For example, we suggest our consultants to use low power consumption computers, and shut it down when not in use for longer duration.
- We reduce waste through recycling and handling/disposing of waste using responsible methods.
- We support & encourage activities that promote sustainable practices and environmental protection. We suggest our staff to use stairs (if possible) instead of elevator for less than 3 floor climb. Turn off the light when not needed in your room/cubicle.
- We educate and train our employees and associates of the benefits of sustainable IT solutions.
- Eliminate 50 percent of your office space. Sage Group has been working to reduce the office space needed to provide consulting services. Most of our consultant support clients either onsite or from home as virtual worker. We highly rely on technologies such as VPNs, cloud-based solutions, and conference bridges to support the work flow as well as collaboration. We are committed to save wasteful consumption of lighting, heating, and cooling resources. This is an established corporate goal.
- Water Conservation. Sage Group has posted water conservation notices in each of our facilities/offices. It is also a part of our employee orientation program. Sage Group is closely monitoring the water usage on quarterly basis.
- Minimize business travel. Sage Group typically relocates its consultants closer to client site and project location. In addition to that we use video conferencing as a viable means for conducting business travel. The cost benefit is significant: elimination of airline tickets, rental cars, hotel rooms, parking, and per diem expenses. By not traveling, our consultants are more productive. Sage Group is providing cost effective rates to clients by minimizing travel.
- Eliminate desktop computing devices. Sage Group provided laptops to its consultants. Our clients save money and resources as they do not need to procure additional licenses etc… Clients save substantially on licensing updates, patching, security updates, and complete OS upgrades.
- Paperless Processes. Sage Group is big proponent of paperless processes. We use email & electronic forms to communicate with partners. All the contracts, invoicing, billing, project communications utilize email and electronics methods. Sage Group is asking its employees to opt for paperless payroll, payslip and direct deposit. Similarly, 90% of our customers are also making electronic payments.
- Waste reduction by minimized printing and recycling: All the Sage Group employees and associates are instructed to use duplex printing and recycle the used paper products. We are continuously working to cut down on printing and utilizing scanning and email distribution of docs.
- Car Pooling. Sage Group consultants are instructed to use car pool whenever possible. i.e. traveling to same location or available car pool. We are committed to use the same practice at all the clients.
- Rent fuel efficient cars only: All the Sage Group employees and associates are instructed to rent only fuel efficient economy cars whenever they are on business visits. Sage Group HR/Accounting department is monitoring each rental expense to ensure that rental vehicle was fuel efficient.
- Ensure the unwanted Lights are turned Off: All the Sage Group employees and associates are instructed to turn off the lights of their work areas when leaving the facility. We have enabled the motion sensors based auto-off light instruments to save on electric energy.
- Procure Recycled Products: Sage Group staff is instructed to procure recycled products as much possible. It is a good cost savings measure for us and environmentally friendly purchasing option.
